Operations Supervisor Role

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient loading of freight. As a key member of our team, you will lead a high-performing team to ensure all trailers are loaded in line with requirements, fully manifested, and ready for scheduled departures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and embed a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to safety systems, legislative obligations, and customer requirements
  • Lead and supervise loading teams to achieve freight dispatch KPIs, maximise payloads, and meet accuracy and compliance standards
  • Oversight trailer allocation and ensure efficient utilisation of fleet resources in coordination with the transport team
  • Maintain strict compliance with Chain of Responsibility and DG handling requirements
  • Foster team capability through training, coaching, and recognition of safe behaviour
  • Provide clear handovers to back-to-back supervisors and operations management to ensure seamless 24/7 operations
  • Drive continuous improvement in loading processes, load planning, and the use of warehouse systems

About You

  • A proven operator with strong leadership and hands-on experience in freight loading, warehouse, or transport operations
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in operational accuracy, and has the confidence to lead teams while maintaining strong relationships with customers and contractors
  • Demonstrates solid supervisory or leadership experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations
  • High-level understanding of load restraint, mass/dimensional compliance, DG handling, and Chain of Responsibility
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in staff training, coaching, and performance management
  • Ability to build a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills
  • SAP or warehouse system experience (desirable)
