Agroforestry and Climate Change Mitigation Specialist

The Amazon rainforest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world, is a vital consumer of carbon and freshwater. For thousands of years, indigenous peoples have lived in harmony with the forest, practicing agroforestry-style farming to feed their families and communities.
This unique opportunity allows interns to learn about the intersection of ancestral knowledge and climate change mitigation strategies. They will work alongside experienced professionals in forest conservation, agroforestry, agronomy, participatory community development, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable farming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist farmers, foresters, park rangers, and environmental engineers in implementing forest conservation projects, diversity local farms, and develop environmental education programs.
- Support on-going efforts to make the region more resilient to climate change through reforestation initiatives, eco-tourism projects, and community engagement.
- Participate in chakra visits, where you will plant, weed, and harvest crops while learning about agroforestry practices.
