Job Title

Census Operations Coordinator

Manage census field operations in remote regions of Australia, ensuring high-quality data collection.

This role requires strong local knowledge and connections to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and managing census field operations in regional and remote areas.
  • Leading small teams responsible for census collection activities within a designated area.
  • Developing and implementing work plans, providing training and administrative support to teams.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with community leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring workplace health and safety compliance and promoting participation in the census within the community.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong project management skills and experience in operational settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and make decisions with limited guidance.
  • Experience in leading or managing teams, particularly in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
