Firefighting Specialist

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services seeks highly skilled individuals to join its team of Auxiliary Firefighters.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of firefighting techniques, emergency response protocols, and community safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency incidents in a timely and effective manner;
- Promote community safety through education and outreach programs;
- Develop and maintain competencies through regular training and drills;
- Maintain attendance standards for emergency incidents and training;
- Operate specialized equipment safely and efficiently;
- Contribute to station upkeep and hygiene;
- Ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment;
- Participate in incident reporting and general administration;
- Embody a positive team approach and adhere to organizational policies and procedures;
- Communicate effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers, and the community.
Requirements
- Australian Permanent Resident Status;
- Manual C Class driver's licence;
- Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable);
- Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station;
- Ability to commit to attending 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours, or 30% of calls as a shift worker with non-routine hours;
- 75% attendance at regular drill and training sessions;
- Ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, including first aid/emergency care.
