About this role

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading environmental consulting firm as a senior professional responsible for project planning and approvals in Sydney NSW, Australia.

The primary focus will be on supporting clients in environmental approvals and impact assessments for renewable energy, mining, infrastructure, and industrial sector clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing an approvals and planning team to secure major project approvals for clients in the renewables, mining, infrastructure, and industrial space.
  • Leading environmental assessment projects and related approvals management in support of ERM clients' capital project delivery.
  • Building, growing, and managing a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identifying emerging talent and working with them to reach their full potential.
  • Supporting the growth and development of ERM's Capital Project Delivery service area and collaborating with colleagues across the nation and globe.
  • Driving innovation within the technical community to stay ahead of client needs and differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM's business and lead client and technical teams.
  • Meeting business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.
  • Partnering with Account Directors to develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with target clients aligned with ERM's global strategy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • 15+ years of experience in environmental planning and approvals.
  • Authorisation to work in Australia.
