Legal Precedent Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Legal Precedent Specialist to join our team and support the transformation of our case management system. This is a key role in reviewing, amending, and drafting legal precedents, as well as standardizing them for migration into the new platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and maintain legal precedents, templates, and clause banks across various practice areas and jurisdictions.
  • Apply style guides and document standards to ensure consistency in format, language, structure, and tone.
  • Lead and coordinate a precedent update program, including audit, review, redesign, and stakeholder consultation phases.
  • Migrate precedents into the new case management system, ensuring structuring, metadata tagging, quality checks, and version control.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to identify document needs, fill content gaps, and validate updated versions.
  • Track legislative, regulatory, and procedural changes and ensure timely updates to affected precedents.
Requirements
  • Tertiary and Post Graduate qualifications in Law.
  • Current Practicing Certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of legal processes and legal document drafting.
  • Excellent computer literacy and understanding of technology's importance in practice.
  • Strong internal stakeholder relationship management.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy.
