
Healthcare Quality Improvement Specialist

Overview of Role
This position drives improvements in safety, quality, and innovation across healthcare.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in leading critical incident investigations. They will also possess advanced analytical skills with expertise in interpreting, analysing and presenting data.
Key responsibilities include providing support for governance, facilitating investigative reviews of adverse events, and supporting organisational audit programs. The successful candidate will also develop high-level reports that provide data analysis and improvement actions.
In addition to these key responsibilities, the role will provide clinical support, guidance and advice in relation to patient safety and quality. They will actively participate in mandatory meetings as required.
Responsibilities- Provide support for governance through data collection, analysis, monitoring and reporting to support safe care and enable identification of opportunities for improvement
- Facilitate investigative reviews of adverse events and compliance with associated regulatory requirements
- Support report writing and construction of recommendations arising from incidents
- Produce high level reports that provide data analysis and improvement actions
- Support organisational audit programs to enable identification and implementation of improvement strategies
- Provide clinical support, guidance and advice in relation to patient safety and quality
- Development opportunity to act in director role to cover leave
- Actively participate in mandatory meetings as required
- Tertiary qualifications in a health-related field and or equivalent with extensive experience in an acute health service setting
- Effective use of relevant technologies, including Microsoft Office, Excel and Internet Explorer
- Proven experience in leading critical incident investigations
- Advanced analytical skills with expertise in interpreting, analysing and presenting data
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of iPM, VHIMS, RiskMan and PFM systems
