We seek an experienced Registered Nurse to lead our Operating Theatre team as their Unit Manager. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of patient care, managing staff performance and fostering a collaborative work environment during a period of change and growth.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership to Planned Surgery and Central Sterilisation and Supply Department managers
- Lead nursing teams to create a collaborative, professional and supportive environment with effective communication
- Optimise the scheduling and utilisation of operating theatre resources including staff, equipment and consumables
- Recruit, onboard, roster, manage payroll, professional development and performance of theatre staff to achieve skilled and functional teams
- Develop quality improvement initiatives related to relevant standards and ensure adherence to auditing, data collection and action plans
- Ensure theatre teams are trained and prepared for clinical emergencies relevant to theatre service
- Participate in mandatory meetings as required
- Maintain core clinical competence specific to area of clinical practice
- Current AHPRA Registration as Registered Nurse
- Minimum 4 years post registration peri-op experience across scrub/scout, anaesthetics and PACU
- Previous management experience and understanding of human resource management, financial processes, quality management and clinical governance
- Post Graduate Qualification in Management or related studies
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality improvement processes and activities
