The role of Electrical Estimator is pivotal within our organization, responsible for driving accurate and timely costing of complex electrical infrastructure projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring estimates align with technical specifications, industry regulations, and company standards.

  • Master the Tender: Review RFQs, dissect scope, terms, and technical/commercial commitments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Build Precision Estimates: Develop first-principle models from client/engineering data, including direct/indirect costs, risk, and contingency to create reliable forecasts.
  • Lead the Bid: Oversee bid writing plans, assign resources, manage deadlines, and ensure compelling, compliant submissions that meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Crunch the Numbers: Collate material take-offs, labour costs, and benchmarks into clear and concise spreadsheets/databases to inform decision-making.
  • Power Collaboration: Work closely with Planning, Procurement (providing BoQs), Engineering, and Project Development teams to align estimates, schedules, and methodologies.
  • Mitigate Risk: Conduct thorough risk assessments and refine costings through senior management reviews to minimize potential pitfalls.
  • Own Relationships: Engage suppliers, subcontractors, and industry bodies to source competitive quotes and innovative solutions that drive business growth.
  • Ensure Flawless Delivery: Guarantee all estimates, reports, and bid documents meet deadlines and the highest standards of accuracy and presentation to maintain stakeholder trust.

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated background in estimating Australian electrical transmission, substation, BESS, or power projects.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of HV infrastructure, legislative requirements, and key standards to inform your estimations.
  • Tender Expertise: Experience managing major tenders, including proposal writing, resource coordination, and risk assessment to drive successful outcomes.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to interpret complex documents, develop accurate pricing models, and justify decisions with data to drive business growth.
  • Collaborative Drive: Strong communication skills to lead bid teams and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Systems Savvy: Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and databases to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
