About the Role

The Director Force Health Protection will play a critical leadership role in shaping the health protection strategies and health surveillance capabilities of the Defence organisation. This position requires a high degree of independence and the ability to influence and develop policies, priorities, and operational practices in support of Defence objectives.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical health advice to senior management and stakeholders, leading and assuming accountability for public health initiatives, emergency preparedness, and response planning. They will also be responsible for leading two or more work teams, planning and managing human and physical resources, and exercising associated people and financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health protection strategies and health surveillance capabilities
  • Provide strategic and technical health advice to senior management and stakeholders
  • Lead and assume accountability for public health initiatives, emergency preparedness, and response planning
  • Manage and lead two or more work teams
  • Plan and manage human and physical resources
About Our Team

The Force Health Protection Directorate sits within the Health Protection and Policy Branch, Joint Health Command. This newly established directorate will be responsible for providing population health advice, including public health, epidemiology, and environmental health advice to optimise the health and health readiness of ADF members.
