Analytics Professional - Data Insights

This is a role within our Financial Institution's Risk Analytics & Insights Business Unit with a focus on data asset management. The position involves overseeing data source systems, risks and incidents, capturing, recording and progressing fixes for timely data delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and document objectives, scope, risks, issues and challenges.
  • Analyse source systems, Enterprise, Risk and other data sets to determine the most appropriate data sources meeting customer needs.
  • Assess quality of determined data sets to identify gaps, issues and variances, documenting these as technical findings.
  • Discuss technical findings with clients, assist in accepting variances or carrying out detailed analysis as requested by customers until agreed and signed off.
  • Contribute to defining data checks and reconciliations ensuring the quality of delivered data solutions.
  • Prepare test scripts, perform testing prior to production roll out to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Perform UAT & PIV of client data assets for validity and accuracy, ensuring output aligns with previous reporting periods.
  • Document and investigate, track data issues identified to closure.
  • Establish controls to ensure produced data is fit for purpose, test and validate control performance.
  • Support migration of legacy reporting processes to Tableau.

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of Credit Risk ratios such as PD, LGD, EAD etc., and BASEL compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in SAS, R, SQL, PL/SQL, Hive & UNIX shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in relational databases such as Teradata, big data platforms like Hadoop and visualisation tools like Tableau.
  • Effective communication skills to present in front of senior stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications well regarded.

Bonus Information:

Experience working with Big Data will be advantageous, but not required.
