Job Description

The Communication and Public Affairs Leader, ANZ role is a senior market leadership position responsible for leading our communication and public affairs strategies for the Australia and New Zealand market cluster. As a key member of the ANZ Leadership Team, you will directly report to the VP, Communication & Public Affairs for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Asia Pacific.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Communication & Public Affairs team in ANZ to deliver business outcomes and engage patients
  • Implement highly competitive and best-practice communication and public affairs programs
  • Coach, drive, lead, and inspire teams to develop cutting-edge communication and public affairs campaigns
  • Develop mid- to long-term focused strategies to prepare the market environment for future innovative pipeline solutions
  • Actively advocate for a sustainable policy environment
  • Represent the Communication & Public Affairs function on the Leadership Team and guide conversations and deliberations on topics concerning our reputation and positioning
  • Provide senior-level counsel, insights, and guidance to the Managing Director, Innovative Medicine ANZ
Requirements and Qualifications

This role requires a deep understanding of our therapeutic areas, science, and strategy. Key qualifications include:

  • Proven experience in communication and public affairs with a strong track record of delivering business outcomes
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills with the ability to drive high-performing teams
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans
  • Strong relationships-building skills with external stakeholders, including media, NGOs, and patient groups
