ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Public Affairs Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our external affairs to deliver high-impact communications across CA ANZ's advocacy initiatives, media relations, executive and internal communications, and governance ecosystem. Under the guidance of the Public Affairs Lead, you will work closely with the CEO, Executive Team, internal stakeholders, and Office Bearers to craft compelling narratives that protect and enhance our reputation, engage our members, and amplify our voice in the public domain.
Key responsibilities :- Develop and implement communications activities including media releases, newsletters, talking points, and social media content.
- Provide strategic and tactical communications advice and support across internal and external channels.
- Liaise with media and journalists on defined activities and manage media-monitoring platforms.
- Support production and promotion of videos, podcasts, and various events.
- Assist with CEO communications including monthly emails and social media content.
- Create engaging intranet content and support employee-led publishing.
- Contribute to speechwriting, website copy, and ad hoc communications tasks.
- 4–5 years' experience in communications, public affairs, or related field.
- Skilled in writing across formats - media releases, intranet, video scripts, social media, and leadership messages.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in crisis communications and media management in an Australian context.
- Prior experience liaising with media and journalists is highly desirable.
- Proficient in digital tools including media monitoring, content creation, and project management platforms.
- Passionate about planning, adaptable to change, and confident working independently and collaboratively.
