About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Direct Care Worker to join our team at Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of aged care residents living in Carnarvon and Anchusa Nursing Homes on Kangaroo Island.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses with routine tasks, ensuring the provision of high-quality person-centred care to residents.
  • Perform technical support functions such as setting up equipment and managing local stock levels.
  • Contribute to maintaining a physically and culturally safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities through data recording and reporting.

Requirements

  • Enrolled student in an undergraduate program in nursing or holding a Certificate III or IV in aged care or home and community care.
  • Good understanding of aged care standards and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality and displaying empathy towards the elderly.
