Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Event Specialist to join our team to assist in the execution of amazing experiences and events across our three racecourses throughout the year. This role will work closely with our Commercial, Marketing, and Racing departments to develop, implement, and coordinate all elements of race day and non-race day events, functions, and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement event concepts, themes, and logistics to ensure seamless execution
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure the smooth running of events
- Liaise and communicate with stakeholders to ensure all aspects of each event are delivered successfully
- Develop new initiatives to improve customer experience, relevance, and commercial health of the Club
- Manage event budgets and resources to meet operational key performance objectives
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver events on time and within scope
- Manage compliance with state legislation and regulations
- Manage internal project teams
Requirements
- Formal tertiary qualifications in Events, Marketing, or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an event management role within a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing external event suppliers and casual staff
- Demonstrated budget management skills
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Current Australian Driver's license and reliable transport
- Operations experience, including event requirements such as marquee and infrastructure builds, equipment, signage, furniture, security, cleaning, freight, audio visual, power, and plumbing
