About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager - Unit Plant to join our Engineering and Project Team at AGL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of professional engineers to deliver asset management and day-to-day technical support for the boiler and turbine plant at the Bayswater Power Station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement asset management strategies to meet performance measures and ensure the plant's flexibility and availability.
  • Manage issue identification, diagnostic completion, and improvement activities in line with group operations defect elimination and reliability standards.
  • Develop and approve maintenance and capital outage scoping packages, including budgetary considerations.
  • Lead and develop a team of specialist engineers by providing strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and support.
  • Ensure that all plant assets meet internal and external standards for process safety integrity and act as a strong safety leader within the business.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a relevant discipline, or trade qualification with relevant industry experience.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering is desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy industry plant, particularly power generation plant, and analytical skills to resolve complex problems.
  • Strong work coordination and people skills, with experience in delivering complex packages and leading teams under pressure.
  • Ability to hold people accountable to meet key deadlines and milestones while promoting flexibility and wellbeing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cooperative, and facilitation skills for interfacing with various levels of management and external bodies.
