**About the Job**

We are seeking a highly analytical and engaging Technical Development Officer to join our team at Port Melbourne. The role will focus on food nutrition and food safety analysis.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory quality systems, expertise in chemical and biological sciences, and experience in operating advanced lab instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new methods for food and beverage analysis
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives
  • Represent NMI at technical forums and events

**What You Will Do**

This is an ongoing role based at NMI Port Melbourne, working closely with senior staff and managers to deliver world-class measurement solutions.

**Requirements**

  • Knowledge of and commitment to NMI values
  • Good understanding of laboratory quality systems requirements per ISO 17025
  • Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience in chemical and biological sciences
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot problems with advanced lab instrumentation

**Working Conditions**

The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently or under limited guidance.
