Transmission Project Development Lead

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to lead the early-stage planning and development of transmission projects. As a Transmission Project Development Lead, you will play a key role in shaping project scope, timelines, and feasibility, ensuring each initiative is strategically aligned and set up for long-term success.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electricity transmission or energy infrastructure development, with proven ability to build collaborative relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for delivering quality outcomes, applying proactive risk management practices, and conducting project health checks to provide clear, actionable recommendations.

In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver on project schedules, milestones, and deliverables, while ensuring customer needs, community expectations, and environmental outcomes are embedded in project design and delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of business case development, including support for scope definition, cost estimation, risk identification, and scheduling. You will also need to possess excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills, as well as effective interpersonal, negotiating, and facilitating skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in electricity transmission or energy infrastructure development (preferred)
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects to time, budget, quality, and safety standards
  • Strong capability in contributing to business case inputs and supporting strategic investment decisions
  • Commitment to safety, sustainability, and community outcomes
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills
  • Effective interpersonal, negotiating, and facilitating skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent
  • Certification with the Australian Institute of Project Management (preferred)
