Procurement Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Procurement Specialist to support our client, a leading utilities company, in their growing procurement function.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in indirect procurement and be able to drive effective market engagement, align purchases with business goals, and develop a value-adding procurement strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert procurement guidance to foster effective market engagement and align purchases with business goals.
  • Lead the source-to-contract procurement process, ensuring smooth execution and compliance with procurement standards.
  • Uphold fair and transparent decision-making, ensuring all procurement activities align with policies and ethical standards.
  • Oversee project management tasks related to sourcing and contracting, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
  • Create procurement reports and dashboards that highlight market trends and insights, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Guide the evaluation and selection of suppliers through well-structured plans that assess value and key criteria.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop high-value, complex tender documentation and facilitate thorough evaluations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to offer specialized advice on optimal procurement options.
  • Lead contract negotiations in collaboration with the Supply Chain Services team and contract owners.
  • Conduct market and supply analysis to optimize procurement strategies for stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement strategies to manage risks in complex procurement projects, balancing risk between the organization and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in a procurement role.
  • Indirect procurement experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in business management, supply chain management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing a procurement function or improving existing procurement practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
