Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our Finance and Procurement team at Chandler Macleod. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the Council's procurement and contract management activities in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to ensure efficient and effective procurement processes.
  • Contract Management: Coordinate and manage contract processes, collaborating with stakeholders to achieve best outcomes.
  • Cost Savings and Sustainability: Drive initiatives to reduce costs and improve sustainability, ensuring strong governance and risk management practices.
  • Procurement Assurance: Implement a procurement assurance system, including audits and training programs, to ensure compliance and excellence.
  • Training and Development: Provide contract management training to portfolio teams to support the Council's procurement goals.
  • Policies and Procedures: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement policies and procedures, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Lead reporting on procurement and contract activities for partner areas, providing insights for informed decision-making.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Educational Background: A degree in business, commerce, procurement, or a related field, or extensive experience in procurement.
  • Procurement Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, leading or supporting procurement activities.
  • Contract Management: Strong background in contract management, with expertise in developing, reviewing, and editing tender and contract documents.
  • Tender Evaluation: Experience in coordinating and evaluating tender submissions, with knowledge of evaluation processes and probity requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in document management, version control, and quality checking systems, as well as advanced skills in MS Word and Excel.
Estimated Salary

$80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
