Job Title: Sustainability Officer

About the Role:

The position requires a passionate environmentalist to lead and coordinate programs related to water and energy management, climate change, biodiversity, carbon emissions reduction and natural resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the delivery of leading sustainability initiatives.
  • Respond to current issues, community expectations and legislative responsibilities to improve environmental performance within the organisation and across the broader community.
  • Manage the delivery and review of programs relating to water and energy management, climate change, biodiversity, carbon emissions reduction and natural resource management.
  • Collaborate closely with waste management partners to facilitate sustainable practices.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Planning or similar related discipline.
  • Proven experience (minimum of three years) in environmental management.
  • Proven experience in program delivery, project management and reporting, including leading environmental education campaigns.
  • Proven experience in strategic analysis and policy formulation.
  • Proven experience in preparing reports and information for decision-making committees and/or Council.
  • Proven strengths in clearly communicating complex issues to various audiences.
