Vehicle Operator Evaluator

Job Description:

The Vehicle Operator Evaluator plays a vital role in promoting Road Safety within the province. This position involves assessing, re-assessing, licensing and evaluating new and experienced drivers in accordance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.

About You:

  • You have exceptional knowledge of the rules of the road.
  • You are an experienced customer service professional.

About the Role:

  • Conduct vehicle assessments and determine the knowledge and ability of drivers to safely operate commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles (Class 4, 5 and 7).
  • Provide customers with information on Driver Licensing processes and procedures and collect fees and fines.

Requirements:

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to work in variable working conditions (weather, customer vehicles etc.).
  • Strong data entry skills and cash handling experience is an asset.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a health assessment based on the job requirements.
  • Clean criminal record check by the relevant authorities as required under the applicable legislation.
  • Possess a valid class 5 BC driver's license or better and have a clean driving record.
  • Meet eligibility requirement to successfully complete the AAMVA Driver Examiner Certificate Program.
  • A minimum data entry speed of 3500 net keystrokes per hour with a 95% accuracy level.

Working Conditions:

  • The vehicle operator evaluator position involves working in all weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat.
