Gardening Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Gardening Operations Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

The Gardening Operations Specialist is an education support class position that provides critical support to the educational services being delivered to students. This role does not involve teaching duties as defined in relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine gardening tasks, including garden maintenance, weed spraying, pruning of shrubs and trees, and external blowing/vacuuming of leaves and debris.
  • Maintaining and servicing gardening equipment, including light machinery and powered tools.
  • Ensuring petrol supplies for gardening tools are maintained.
  • Checking and clearing stormwater pits and drains on a regular basis.
  • Emptying bins and maintaining a clean and tidy work environment.

Selection Criteria:

  • SC1. Demonstrated experience in gardening maintenance using motorised equipment.
  • SC 2. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • SC 3. Capacity to undertake routine tasks across a range of maintenance and gardening functions.
  • SC 4. Capacity to work cooperatively with staff, students, and contractors.
  • SC 5. Demonstrated understanding of OH&S requirements specific to the role.
