Job Title: Gardening Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Gardening Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the parks and gardens within our contract.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all gardens and parks are well-maintained, with a focus on watering and irrigation systems.
  • Maintain turf areas, including mowing, fertilizing, and aerating as needed.
  • Plant new flowers, trees, and shrubs in designated garden beds.
  • Carry out herbicide spraying and weeding to control weeds and prevent their spread.
  • Prune and water trees, and apply mulch as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain new garden beds, ensuring they are tidy and visually appealing.
  • Operate and maintain various horticultural equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, and pruners.

Skill and Qualifications Required:

  • Previous experience in a gardening or soft landscaping role is essential.
  • A Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent qualification is required.
  • A valid MR Truck license is necessary for this position.
  • A Chemical certificate is also required, along with Traffic Management and First Aid certifications.
  • The ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a high level of work ethic is crucial.
  • A Working with Children Card and Police Check are mandatory requirements for this role.
