Garden Maintenance Specialist

Vertical Gardens Australia (VGA) are seeking a dependable and dedicated maintenance specialist with a strong work ethic to join our supportive and diverse Victorian team.

As we look to grow our maintenance division in 2025 and beyond, we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate horticulturist, garden enthusiast to join our team as a Garden Maintenance Specialist.

Your role will involve our green walls, green roofs & plants across VIC. You will work within an inclusive and supportive team that will help you grow and develop alongside our brand.

Roles and responsibilities of the position:

• Support in the scheduling of clients maintenance jobs

• Providing maintenance for our clients' green walls, including testing/adjusting irrigation systems, evaluating fertilisation processes, and identifying and managing pests and diseases.

• Client and stakeholder liaison, including support in troubleshooting any issues onsite Identifying any opportunities to provide additional services for our clients.

• Driving from site to site and communicating with clients on expected arrival times

• Provide reporting on each maintenance job

• Provide education on installations with new clients

About you:

• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Has prior experience in the same or a similar role with demonstrated knowledge in ALL areas of gardening (including plant knowledge)

• Experience in residential garden maintenance, with a sound pest, disease and irrigation knowledge

• Reliable and punctual, skilled in performing various general labour tasks and can perform tasks as a general labourer

• Is passionate about horticulture and has an eagerness to learn and develop their skills

• Is a supportive team player who helps to foster a culture of collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for our client's gardens

• Maintains a high professional standard by taking an organised and efficient approach to tasks and responsibilities and can problem-solve when required

• Ability to juggle competing tasks and prioritise work

• Able to work effectively and communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds and professions

Qualifications/Prior Experience:

• A passion for gardening is a must, or a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Horticulture is highly desirable

• Prior experience as a Garden Maintenance Worker is essential
