Technical Officer Role in Emergency Systems

About the Position
  • This role is pivotal to supporting the Manager of Emergency Systems in developing, implementing and maintaining state-wide radio communications and emergency services management systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement critical communication systems with the Emergency Systems Manager.
  • Closely collaborate with the IT team and broader operations to integrate mission-critical systems and support volunteer members across NSW.
Requirements
  • Bring hands-on experience with radio communications and IP network systems, alongside a project management style approach to coordinating technical work.
  • Proven capability in systems administration and managing virtualised environments, particularly VMware, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with VHF/UHF radio systems, practical experience in the maritime or emergency services sector, understanding of the radio and telecommunications regulatory environment in Australia and experience maintaining virtualisation environments are also valuable.
