Senior Data Analyst


Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement data analytics solutions to identify, manage, and mitigate financial crime risk. This involves working closely with stakeholders to align pipeline tasks with organisational goals, incorporating emerging risk findings into actionable outcomes.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing and overseeing regular data analytics deliverables related to Financial Crime Risk, including exploratory data analytics and end-of-month management information reporting.
  • Managing the pipeline of AML projects, identifying and triaging Transaction Monitoring trigger events, and prioritising the pipeline backlog.
  • Defining and managing the process for new or modified detection scenarios, covering business requirements gathering, feasibility assessment, build, test, calibration, and decisions on implementation.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective integration of detection scenarios into operations.
  • Delivering recommendations from detection scenario reviews, incorporating findings from emerging risk assessments into actionable outcomes, and overseeing the implementation of pipeline deliverables based on these recommendations.
  • Facilitating inquiries by liaising across operational, risk, and technology teams within the organisation.

Key Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's in Data Science, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and data analytics tools (SQL, R, Python, Power BI, Data Bricks).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
