Job Title: Advanced Cybersecurity Solutions Architect

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Cybersecurity Solutions Architect to join our IT Security team. The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions in the payments industry with a focus on scalable systems and seamless integration with key technologies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor, detect, investigate, analyse, and respond to security events to ensure the integrity of our information systems.
  • Investigate and report on network security exposures, misuse of resources or non-compliance events to prevent potential security breaches.
  • Implement detective and protective security controls across our network technology stack (firewall, IPS/IDS, WAF, etc.) to safeguard our infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other Security Operations teams to deliver common goals and objectives.
  • Effectively manage cyber risk, adhering to our risk management process to protect our business and customers.
  • Build strong relationships with other teams to ensure cross-collaboration and security-focused business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with risk, compliance, and IT teams to align security practices with financial regulations (e.g., APRA CPS 234, PCI DSS).
  • Provide cybersecurity advice to projects and departments to enable risk-based decision making.
  • Measure and report on the performance of network security controls to demonstrate control effectiveness and maturity.
  • Deliver professional and timely support with high standards of written and verbal communication.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Minimum 5 years related experience in Cyber/IT Security.
  • IT security skills including network and firewalls, Windows and Linux OS, malware and vulnerability identification and remediation, penetration testing, endpoint protection, DLP, IDS/IPS, email security, data encryption, application whitelisting, log monitoring and alerting, detection and response.
  • Strong analytical skills to translate security requirements into appropriate controls.
  • Ability to analyse large data sets and identify anomalies.
  • Understanding of operating system internals and network protocols.
  • Ability to assess risks and deploy security control countermeasures under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to security compliance obligations and standards (APRA, CPS 234, PCI, Privacy, NPPA, SWIFT).
  • Ability to write and present reports and recommendations, root cause analysis, incident response, and vulnerability/penetration testing findings.
  • Understanding of business impact of security tools, technologies, and policies.
  • Working knowledge of information systems security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines (access control, system hardening, log monitoring, incident handling).
