Job Overview

The Senior Mechanical Power Engineer role involves leading the project mechanical team, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and monitoring and communicating project status.


This is a mid-senior level position requiring significant experience in power generation design, preferably with gas turbine, steam turbine, and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise.


Responsibilities include providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner's engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level, and developing construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates.


Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • At least 10 years of experience in power generation design.
  • Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 15 years of experience in power generation design.
  • Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
  • Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
