We are seeking an experienced Data Science Platform Engineer to join our Onset Group team in Sydney. As a key member of our platform team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge solutions using Google Cloud (GCP) products.

About the Role

This is a permanent opportunity that offers a competitive salary with a 16% bonus and Super. Our team is passionate about transforming retail operations through data-driven innovation, and we're looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm and can contribute their expertise to drive success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop cloud-based machine learning pipelines to solve complex business problems
  • Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and data engineers to develop innovative retail tools
  • Create, present, and seek feedback on architecture and solution designs
  • Apply relevant testing frameworks to ensure solution robustness
  • Communicate analyses, insights, and solution designs to stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of commercial software development experience and system design
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Python, SQL, and Linux
  • Hands-on experience in Kubernetes (Argo/Kubeflow) or Docker

$140,000 - $160,000 per year (estimated based on industry standards and location), depending on experience. The role is located in Surry Hills, Sydney, with flexibility to work from home.
