This role plays a vital part in supporting Defence students and their families as they navigate the challenges of military life.
- Support Defence students to integrate into the school community and develop a strong sense of belonging.
- Raise awareness within the school of the unique needs of Defence families.
- Assist families to navigate transitions when enrolling, experiencing parental absence, or farewelling the College.
- Monitor the wellbeing of Defence students and advocate for their needs when required.
- Facilitate referrals to support services where appropriate.
- Develop programs, activities, and resources that build resilience, connection, and engagement.
- A compassionate and inclusive approach with the ability to empathise with young people and their families.
- Strong organisational skills and the capacity to plan and deliver programs that support student wellbeing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of your work.
