Student Support Officer

We are seeking a Student Support Officer to join our team. The successful applicant will have the proven ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider community.

  • Build and sustain positive relationships with students, parents, community and elders.
  • Liaise with families and conduct home visits to encourage school attendance and motivate students.
  • Liaise with students and families to identify educational, social, emotional or behavioural issues.
  • Work collaboratively with a team-based management approach as a contact for students, families or community members regarding any concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and the community.
  • Collaborate with families and conduct home visits to enhance school attendance and student motivation.
  • Identify and address educational, social, emotional or behavioural issues affecting students.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for students, families or community members, providing support and guidance on various matters.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents and community members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
