Executive Food Safety and Quality Specialist

As a leading organization, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the food safety and quality management systems. Reporting to the Head of Technical and Quality, this position oversees QA process development, execution, and verification to ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve food safety and quality management systems in line with legislative, customer, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Lead HACCP program management and implementation
  • Oversee all verification activities as per verification schedule, including those carried out by QC and QA staff, product and process verification activities for meals and products.
  • Drive continuous improvement across all sites, initiate corrective action where necessary, and ensure the safety and consistent quality of products. Investigate major or critical customer complaints and initiate formal corrective action when required.
  • Support facilitating food safety and quality training and coaching employees.
  • Complete weekly food safety and QA reporting and other reports as needed.
  • Coordinate 2nd and 3rd-party audits and participate in projects aligned with the department's strategic direction.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory and industry standards around food safety and quality management.

Requirements:

  • Food Science/Technology Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of food industry experience in a food technical role, preferably managing food safety management systems (FSMS)
  • Strong team leadership skills with ability to motivate, coach, and develop others
