Workplace Health and Safety Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Hostplus. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees nationwide.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on WHS matters to our leaders and employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement effective safety programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and promote a culture of safety.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, investigations, and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive WHS management system.
- Provide training and education to employees on WHS best practices and procedures.
- Manage and report on incident and hazard registers, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry partners.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role within a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of national WHS laws and best practices.
- Experience in psychosocial risk management and continued improvements in how psychosocial risks are investigated and managed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work, Health and Safety, Human Resources, or equivalent.
