Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Firefighter Emergency Response Specialist to join our team at the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.

About Us:

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is a leading emergency service agency responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland through effective prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities in various emergency situations.

Purpose of the Role:

The functions of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are unique, being the only entity in Australia that delivers high-quality fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services through a single agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team, prioritizing the safety of individuals and properties.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness by participating in community education activities and contributing to the development of competencies in regular drills and training courses provided by the QFES.
  • Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training, adhering to organisational health principles and procedures.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively, ensuring maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
  • Contribute to incident reporting and general station administration as required.

Capabilities:

To be successful in this role, you will be assessed on leadership and management behavioural competencies, including Performance through Vision, Performance through Results, and Performance through Accountability.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
