Surveying Role Overview
RPS, a global professional services firm, is seeking a highly skilled Registered Cadastral Surveyor to join our expanding survey team in Australia. As a Surveyor with RPS, you will play a pivotal role in our exciting surveying projects, working on a diverse range of surveying experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Expert Advice and Management: Provide expert advice, management, and instruction on various surveying projects.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain a strong client base in the infrastructure and development sectors.
- Fieldwork and Data Processing: Conduct fieldwork, calculations, data processing, and total project management.
- Operational Support: Offer operational support to the Survey Manager for resource planning and staff mentoring.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Survey Competency: Competent in various survey functions, from contour and detail surveys to building set-outs and basic cadastral surveys.
- Efficient Execution: Execute survey tasks efficiently, achieving precision in results.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold our Quality Assurance system, conducting independent checks, following standard procedures, and maintaining meticulous records.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with fellow Surveyors, Survey Assistants, and RPS staff, ensuring clear reporting to supervisors and clients.
- Client Engagement: Engage in discussions with contractors, consultants, and clients when necessary, especially on-site instructions.
- Professional Development: Share knowledge and experiences with colleagues, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Business Development and Growth
- Reputation Enhancement: Proactively bolster RPS's reputation as the preferred supplier to stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and fortify relationships with clients while enhancing existing connections with both internal and external partners.
- Professional Image: Maintain a professional public profile at all times.
Education and Experience
- Registration: Current registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland as an Associate Surveyor, Graduate, with an ambition to advance to Surveyor registration. Current Surveyor registration or higher is highly regarded.
- Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of recent experience in surveying across diverse projects.
- Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills. Experience in client management and staff leadership and mentoring is highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software, with a preference for experience with Trimble instruments and 12D.
- Time Management: Ability to work in a technically complex environment and meet project milestones.
- Work Requirements: Right to work in Australia. Strong technical and communication skills. QLD manual driver's licence.
