Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Risk Management Leader to spearhead our risk management activities within the first line of defence. As a key member of our team, you will support the Head of Line 1 Risk and drive a proactive risk culture across our division.


Your primary responsibility will be to enhance our ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring that our risk management frameworks and strategies are integrated into business operations, strengthening the control environment, improving our risk position, and ensuring regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Spearhead risk governance activities, including development of key risk indicators (KRIs) and Line 1 Risk reporting to the Finance Risk Committee.
  • Lead and motivate a Risk Specialist team; provide pragmatic risk advice and risk insights to support the business in reducing complexity and risk.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external regulatory bodies and auditors to deliver risk management solutions aligned with our strategic direction and growth objectives.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in risk management, ideally across the P&C and/or Group Risk landscape and in a leadership position, leading Risk Specialist teams.


You should have a proven track record developing and implementing risk management frameworks, particularly within the financial services industry with a focus on P&C and/or Group Risk.


Able to provide pragmatic risk advice, deliver risk insights, and support the business in reducing complexity and risk, you should also be adept at managing and advising on risk management strategies, frameworks, and standards to ensure risks, obligations, and control designs meet requirements.


Additionally, you will require experience delivering risk governance activities, including KRIs and risk reporting to senior committees, as well as strong logical reasoning, attention to detail, exceptional communication, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
