Job Title: Arabic Interpreter

We are seeking a skilled interpreter to fill this position.

  • Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced interpreter to join our team as an NDIS provider. We promote independence, inclusion, and social and economic involvement for people with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret oral conversations between participants, staff, and external parties.
  • Explain participant complaints and concerns of family members to the staff and external parties.
  • Enable comprehension by using paraphrasing and simplifying tools.
  • Compile information and technical terms into glossaries and terminology databases.
  • Maintain the style and tone of the original language.
  • Translate spoken messages accurately, quickly, and clearly.
  • Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials.
  • Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.
  • Identify and sort out conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification in interpretation and translation.
  • Registration with National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • First Aid certificate and CPR.
  • NDIS Workers Orientation.
  • 100 Points of ID.
  • Current Australian Driving License.
  • Covid 19 Vaccination Certificate (minimum three doses).

Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role for at least 2 years.
  • Passionate about working with people living with disability in the NDIS environment.
  • Participating in a multi-disciplinary team delivering improved health outcomes to patients.
  • Good people skills required as this role involves working closely with participants.
  • Delivering services to children, young people, and adults with disability.
  • High level of attention to detail with ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work in team and maintain good relationships.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Compassion and friendly attitude.

Requirements:

  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, public holidays, shift work, and weekend availability.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Driver Licence (required).
  • NAATI registration (required).
