Logistics Manager Job Overview

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the transportation operations of a reputable food business. As a Logistics Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of drivers and play a key part in developing transport strategies, ensuring safety, compliance, and delivery efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will supervise a team of 3–5 truck drivers, facilitate daily briefings, and support their performance.
  • You will create daily delivery routes and adjust plans according to traffic, weather, or operational requirements.
  • You will coordinate with warehouse and dispatch teams to meet delivery deadlines.
  • You will oversee vehicle pre-starts, servicing schedules, and maintenance follow-up.
  • You will ensure adherence to Cor, Whs, Nhvr, and fatigue management policies.
  • You will step in to drive company vehicles when needed.
  • You will operate a forklift to support warehouse and loading functions (as required).
  • You will report on delivery KPIs and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • You should have experience in transportation operations or supervisory roles within logistics or FMCG.
  • A valid HC driver's license and willingness to drive if necessary.
  • A forklift license (or willingness to obtain).
  • A sound understanding of transport safety and compliance regulations.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A leadership style that is both hands-on and team-focused.
