Job Title: School Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Psychologist to join our team at the Department of Education, Western Australia. As a School Psychologist, you will play a critical role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students, teachers, and staff in our schools.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychological services and evidence-based assessments and interventions in learning and disability, mental health and wellbeing, positive behaviour and risk and incident management. You will work closely with school leadership and Student Support teams to develop and implement strategies to promote student wellbeing and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological services and evidence-based assessments and interventions in learning and disability, mental health and wellbeing, positive behaviour and risk and incident management.
  • Work closely with school leadership and Student Support teams to develop and implement strategies to promote student wellbeing and academic success.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support student learning and wellbeing.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, and community members.
  • Consult widely and work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
Requirements
  • Hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting.
  • Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
