Electronics Support Specialist

\

Working in a frontline support section offers a number of allowances and entitlements that may be of interest. As an Electronics Support Specialist, you will provide specialist technical communications and electronic systems support to ensure electronic systems and devices are available and operational at all times.

Key responsibilities include:

  • \
  • Deploy to locations across the NT in emergency situations to deliver critical equipment and solve issues as part of whole-of-government disaster response and recovery functions.\
  • Install and maintain new and existing communications and electronic equipment, develop and manage equipment maintenance schedules, conduct routine maintenance, calibration and ad-hoc repairs.\
  • Troubleshoot and provide training to frontline end-users on a full range of systems and devices in use.\
  • Trial new electronic equipment and systems to assess suitability against agency needs and legislated responsibilities, providing advice about emerging products and issues.\
  • Provide innovative solutions and recommendations for improving electronic systems and processes.\
  • Develop and implement efficient workflows and procedures to improve productivity and customer satisfaction.\
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems and services.\
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electronic technology to continually improve skills and knowledge.\
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.\
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture by promoting open communication, respect and empathy.\
  • Perform other related tasks as required.\
  • Be innovative and provide technical advice about communications systems and electronic equipment, with the initiative to learn new skills and functionalities of experimental equipment.\
  • Qualifications such as an Associate Diploma in Electronics and Communications, Trade Certificate Electronics or Radio Fitter, Certificate IV in Electro Technology or equivalent, or be working towards one of these qualifications is essential.\
  • Working in a frontline support section offers a number of allowances and entitlements that may be of interest, including but not limited to NT allowance, 6 weeks annual leave (pro rata), and after an appropriate training period, being rostered on-call attracting an on-call allowance and appropriate overtime.\
