Job Summary:
The registered nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient-focused nursing care to patients and families. In collaboration with the family and other team members, the registered nurse assesses and monitors the patient's health status, identifies patient/family needs, and develops plans to meet those needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and evaluate care provided
- Participate in ongoing professional development of self and others
- Contribute to unit and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
- Apply current theory and research in the delivery of care
- Promote a safe work environment
Requirements:
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous medical/surgical experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Willingness to participate in process improvement
