Job Summary

The Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the Education and Learning management team.

This position supports Western Health - Centre for Education and Learning in achieving its strategic aims by coordinating programs that are based on best evidence and utilize contemporary educational theoretical frameworks and promote lifelong learning.

  • Coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the Nursing Transition to Practice Programs
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to support workforce development in Nursing Services
  • Designing and delivering sustainable programs to enhance participants' experience and transition into the workforce
  • Monitoring graduate development in clinical reasoning, clinical skill and professional development, ensuring graduates meet all program requirements
  • Actively promoting and coordinating recruitment and onboarding requirements, including rotation planning
  • Collaborating with Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Instructors to deliver optimal education and clinical support to program participants
  • Designing and maintaining a graduate nursing database
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Nursing registration with AHPRA
  • A Postgraduate or Masters in education and/or leadership (or currently undertaking)
  • A minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience with advanced clinical skills
  • A minimum of 3 years Clinical Education experience, including experience in the development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of educational programs, with the ability to utilize contemporary strategies based on adult learning principles and theoretical frameworks
