Job Description:

AEMO operates the energy system and market in Australia. The Market Management department sits within the Operations division and is responsible for the sound financial management of the National Electricity Market (NEM), Western Australian Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) and east coast gas markets.

The NEM Metering team is accountable for the accurate, compliant, efficient operation of the NEM metering data, retail market operations and metering services functions under the National Electricity Rules (NER). This includes the management of over 150 rule compliance obligations, 5 IT systems and 10 million meters in the NEM.

The team contributes to market reform initiatives such as the embedment of smart meters as part of the Metering Services Review (MSR) Project.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in economics, computing, commerce, engineering, science or a related discipline.
  • Strong metering and/or metering data experience in the Electricity sector, with working knowledge of MSATS and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with system integration or technical user acceptance testing from a business perspective.
  • Proven qualitative and quantitative analytical skills that provide evidence-based solutions to issues.
