About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our client in Perth CBD. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for delivering projects across Sustaining Capital Rail packages for various mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare schedules for design work and obtaining approvals for flow sheets and drawings.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Obtain appropriate approvals for documentation, including calculations, specifications, variations, etc.
  • Monitor and report on aspects of project quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Identify risks to the project and drive implementation of appropriate controls and mitigations.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, operations, EPCM service providers, and other contractors on an ongoing basis.
  • Resolve potential issues or escalate them to the Project Manager.
  • Develop and implement project controls and specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 4-8 years of professional experience in project engineering and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience working on mining and rail engineering projects.
  • Understanding of heavy haul rail projects will be well-regarded.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment and foster good relationships.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven project management skills (achieving prescribed budget, timeframe, and customer requirements).
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information.
