Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials Specialist

Our team is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials (OHHM) professional to join our team as a HAZMAT Consultant. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical advice on hazardous materials and occupational hygiene issues.

The successful candidate will conduct asbestos/hazmat surveys and removals, perform asbestos airborne fibre monitoring and fibre counting, identify asbestos bulk samples, and prepare comprehensive technical reports.

You will also be required to travel regionally and contribute to the development of our OHHM services. To excel in this role, you should have a strong qualification in occupational hygiene or a related field, experience in the HAZMAT industry, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  1. Provide expert advice on hazardous materials and occupational hygiene matters.
  2. Conduct thorough asbestos/hazmat surveys and removals.
  3. Perform high-quality asbestos airborne fibre monitoring and fibre counting.
  4. Identify and report on asbestos bulk samples.
  5. Prepare detailed technical reports.
  6. Undertake regional travel to support service delivery.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  1. A strong qualification in occupational hygiene or a related field.
  2. Experience in the HAZMAT industry or exposure through study.
  3. A valid driver's license.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Australian citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
  6. A keen interest in OHHM and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
