The successful Senior Hazmat Consultant will lead hazardous materials projects from conception to completion, provide expert technical advice and regulatory compliance guidance, conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments, mentor and manage a team of consultants, build key client relationships and drive business growth.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead end-to-end hazardous materials projects involving asbestos, lead, mould, and other hazardous substances.
- Provide authoritative technical advice and regulatory compliance guidance to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct thorough inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and manage a team of consultants to enhance their skills and knowledge, promoting career development and growth.
- Foster strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and preferences, and delivering tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
- Proven expertise in Hazmat consulting, with experience in asbestos, lead, and hazardous substances.
- Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety (WHS) and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior consultants, developing their skills and confidence, and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Occupational Hygiene, or Engineering, providing a solid foundation for Hazmat consulting.
- Professional certifications such as PTA (highly regarded), demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
