Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Project Officer to play a pivotal role in driving project success and contributing to policy and program outcomes. This opportunity will see you working closely with government services, developing solutions that enhance service provision, and collaborating with community organizations.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing projects addressing domestic and family violence, improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders. You will work closely with local service providers to ensure culturally appropriate services meet community needs, providing timely advice and analysis on trends related to domestic and family violence.

About the Role
  • Develop locally relevant strategies to improve service delivery and address complex needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
  • Build effective relationships with community organizations to facilitate referral pathways for support services.
  • Advise on protocols, history, and issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the region.
Key Responsibilities
  • Culturally sensitive project management to drive positive change in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Collaborative partnerships with community organizations to strengthen support services.
  • Expertise in analyzing domestic and family violence trends and providing actionable insights.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and family violence reforms and their impact on Indigenous communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build trust with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders.
