Senior Project Officer - Positive Relationships Cultural Connector

This role involves managing projects to support policy and program outcomes, improve coordination of government services, and develop solutions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement projects addressing domestic and family violence and related reforms to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
  • Provide advice on domestic and family violence issues and contribute to the government's response to relevant reports.
  • Cultivate partnerships with community organizations to ensure understanding and effective referral pathways for domestic and family violence support.
  • Identify and develop culturally appropriate local solutions to enhance service provision.
  • Collaborate with local service providers to ensure culturally appropriate services that meet community needs.
  • Analyze trends related to domestic and family violence and provide timely advice and analysis.
  • Offer expertise on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols, history, and issues within the region.
  • Contribute to planning and evaluation of policies and programs affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Understanding of domestic and family violence and related reforms.
  • Ability to implement practical actions supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of challenges and opportunities in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Effective communication skills with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with knowledge of their cultures and histories.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and administrative skills.
