About the Community Support Role

We seek a casual Community Support Worker to support a client within the community in Wollongong, available on Fridays and Sundays.

As a Community Support Worker, you will empower people with disability to live a life of their choosing and be respected and valued within their community. You will provide community services to assist clients to participate in local activities, build relationships, and engage in meaningful opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering person-centred programs to support active lifestyles and community participation
  • Utilising positive behaviour strategies to work towards behaviour support plans
  • Assisting and supporting clients with personal and hygiene care
  • Maintenance of progress notes and record-keeping

About You

We require someone resilient both physically and emotionally, with a good heart and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of people with disability. However, it helps if you have:

  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to support others with personal and hygiene care
  • Current Australian drivers licence & vehicle with comprehensive insurance (willingness to drive own car on shift)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • NSW Working With Children Check & NDIS Workers Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
  • High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty and respect
